The Operation teams at Shopee covers the operational end-to-end process, from when the buyer searches for a product listed on the Shopee platform, to the moment the buyer receives the products. The team analyses and monitors operational KPIs across the region and conducts root cause analysis when operation performance fluctuates. Job Description:
  • To carry out financial reconciliation in-line with monthly Finance payment/reconciliation cycles for all transactions coming via Payment Gateways (PG) and/or Bank acquirers
  • Work with the business functions to maintain the payments pipeline, managing day-to-day responsibilities such as monitoring & researching the cause of payment declines, daily reconciling of payment processing statements for high volume transactions and monthly assessments of payment card fees
  • Analyze daily and monthly reporting to present to various areas of the business and to implement business strategies & continually focus on interchange and process optimization
  • Develop & document systems, operations processes and reporting flows for large-scale business purposes
  • Be an internal SME in ecommerce payments processing to assist in solving daily payments issues creatively and effectively
  • Partner with Product and Technical teams to solve problems, identify trends and opportunities for payments and payment channel integration optimization and implement cost savings initiatives
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, and other business teams to ensure optimal payment acceptance practices
  • Participate in regionally or locally driven initiatives for process improvements relating to payment channel reconciliation
  • Track, analyze, influence, and communicate key metrics to influence decisions and new payments initiatives
  • Inform, influence, support, and execute initiatives focused on reducing payment costs and redundancies.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required by the Business

Requirements:
  • At least 3-5 years working experience
  • Analytical and strong attention to detail required
  • Strong critical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working within a technology organization
  • Intermediate Excel skills with knowledge of SQL and Power Query (plus).
  • Familiar with multiple payment channels and concept of MDR (Merchant Discount Rate)
  • Excel (Vlookup and Pivot table) is a must, SQL good to have
  • Previous experience in payments good to have
  • Experience in fintech, banking or finance background good to have
  • Proactive, energetic, fast pace, meticulous
  • Smart, self-learning and resourceful
